Facts about Urine in Your Carpet
Urine stains penetrate the carpet fibres and contaminate the carpet backing and the floor structure under the backing. Often without your knowledge, pets will continually urinate in the same general area. Urine odours can permeate from the floor structure, whether it’s wood or cement, from the tack strip, and even from the walls and frame work of the house.
When urine dries, the liquid evaporates, but the urine crystals that are left can become more concentrated and pungent. General Cleaning will not remove this odour. When PURT comes in contact with the source of the odour, it immediately creates a chemical reaction that destroys the urine odour.
The PURT Process
- Determine the location and severity of the odour, then we extract as much of the urine crystals as we can with hot water.
- We apply PURT heavily to the affected area. This is necessary to make sure the product comes in contact with all of the affected area.
- After a dwelling period depending on severity, we extract the PURT with hot water.
4. Over the next day or 2, PURT will react with the urine crystals & break down the offensive odour components.
