Avoid spilling on your area rug. When a spill happens, quickly blot up as much of the spill as possible using a dry towel or wet suction extractor. Dilute the spill with cold water & blot up again. Depending on the type of carpet fibres, hot water may damage your rug. (consult with a Chem-Dry Elite specialist on how to best handle your specific rug).
